Flags We Regularly Frame
Military Flags • Historic Flags • Vintage Flags • Pennants • Ceremonial Flags • Sporting Flags • School & University Flags • Club Banners • Commemorative Flags • Presentation Flags
Every flag is individually assessed according to its age, condition, construction and significance.
Display Options
Different flags require different approaches.
Depending on the project, we may recommend:
Full Flag Displays – Ideal for showcasing the entire flag and its detail.
Shadow Box Displays – Perfect for flags displayed alongside medals, photographs, certificates and memorabilia.
Pennant & Banner Framing – Designed for triangular pennants, ceremonial banners and vintage club or sporting flags.
Folded Flag Display Frames – Suitable for ceremonial folded flags. See our dedicated Folded Flag Display Frames page for further information.
Conservation-Conscious Framing
Many flags are vulnerable to light, handling and environmental deterioration.
Where appropriate, we incorporate conservation-grade materials, UV-filtering glazing and carefully selected mounting methods designed to support the fabric while helping preserve it for future generations.
For more detailed information, see our Conservation & Archival Framing page.
Preserving the Story
A flag often tells only part of the story.
Many clients choose to include photographs, medals, certificates, plaques, written or typed text, service records, newspaper articles or written histories alongside the flag to create a display that captures both the object and the memories connected to it.
One of the most common questions we receive is whether a worn or damaged flag can still be framed. In most cases, the answer is yes. Wear, fading, staining, fraying and previous repairs often form part of the flag’s history and provenance. Rather than disguising these characteristics, careful framing can help preserve and respectfully present them.
Respecting Provenance
Where known, we encourage clients to preserve the story behind the flag as well as the flag itself. A few details about where it flew, who carried it, or the occasion it commemorates can add valuable context and help future generations appreciate its significance.
Large & Oversized Flag Framing
Larger flags present their own unique challenges, including fabric movement, glazing limitations, transport and structural support.
Our workshop is equipped to frame oversized flags for homes, clubs, institutions, museums and public display spaces, with each project individually designed to suit both the flag and its intended environment.
For more information, see our Oversized Framing page.
