Every Style of Needlework Welcome
Needlework embraces an extraordinary variety of techniques, fabrics and traditions, each with its own character.
We regularly frame:
Cross Stitch • Long Stitch • Needlepoint • Tapestries • Silk Embroidery • Stumpwork • Crewel Work • Blackwork • Contemporary Embroidery • Historic Needlework • Textile Art
Whether your piece has just come off the embroidery frame or has been carefully stored away for decades, every project receives the same thoughtful care and attention.
Designed Around the Needlework
Successful needlework framing isn’t simply about placing fabric behind glass.
It’s about creating a presentation that complements the textile without competing with it. Proportion, colour, texture, depth and spacing all contribute to the finished result, with every design developed around the individual piece rather than following a standard formula.
Some projects are relatively straightforward, while others benefit from careful hand lacing, recessed presentation, shadow depth, fabric-covered mounts, decorative fillets, floating presentations or discreet support systems to accommodate raised stitching and dimensional elements.
Traditional and contemporary frame styles, together with UV-filtering glazing where appropriate, complete a design that enhances the overall presentation while allowing the needlework itself to remain the centre of attention.
Working Alongside New Zealand’s Stitching Community
Over many years we’ve had the privilege of working with first-time stitchers, experienced embroiderers, guild members, exhibition participants and families preserving historic needlework.
These projects continually remind us that no two textiles are ever quite the same. We enjoy discussing ideas, exploring design possibilities and helping each finished piece receive a presentation worthy of the time, skill and care invested in its creation.
Not Local?
We regularly frame needlework for customers throughout New Zealand.
Many projects begin with a phone call, email or photographs before arrangements are made for the textile to be safely delivered to our Palmerston North workshop.
